Jenifer Cushing, Au.D.
Audiologist & Director of Professional Development
Dr. Jenifer Cushing is the Director of Professional Development for Live Better Hearing and practices audiology in the Frederick office. She graduated with a Doctorate in Clinical Audiology from the University at Buffalo and, while there, published over twenty peer-reviewed scientific articles while working at the Center for Hearing and Deafness, more than any other graduating audiology clinician before her. Her expertise is in hearing diagnostics and hearing aids, and she has a unique expertise in electrophysiological measures because of her graduate research.
Dr. Cushing works with patients of all ages including infants and individuals with special needs. She enjoys giving presentations to her peers and to the community on topics related to hearing health and technology.
Away from work, Dr. Cushing enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering in the community, hiking, and trying new adventures.
Shannon Wrabel, Au.D.
Dr. Shannon Wrabel received her Doctorate in Audiology from Towson University. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. Her graduate clinical rotations included the Baltimore County School System, Saint Agnes Hospital, Johns Hopkins Hospital and the Baltimore Veterans Administration. Her main interests include: hearing aids, assistive listening devices and the geriatric population. She has been servicing the hearing healthcare needs of patients in the Lutherville-Timonium area since 2006. She joined Live Better Hearing in 2012. Dr. Wrabel stays up to date on all new technology releases and prides herself in being able to service all makes and models of hearing aids. Customer service, attention to detail and exceeding expectations of her patients are her main goals.
Andrea Liacouras, Au.D., CCC-A
Andrea E. Liacouras, Au.D., CCC-A, is a nationally certified doctor of audiology. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in Elementary Education and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Dr. Liacouras completed her Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Audiology, with a focus in pediatrics, at Gallaudet University in Washington, DC. She completed her audiology residency at Georgetown University Hospital and has worked in a variety of hospital, clinical and private practice environments obtaining extensive knowledge in diagnostics, amplification options, electrophysiological and vestibular assessments and evaluations.
Dr. Liacouras treats her patients like family. She believes in empowering her patients with knowledge so that the most beneficial decisions regarding hearing healthcare needs are made. Dr. Liacouras is fully versed in a wide range of hearing aids. She is also fluent in Sign Language. Dr. Liacouras is licensed in Maryland and is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association.
Emily Martinson, Au.D., Ph.D., CCC-A, F/AAA
Dr. Emily Martinson is Live Better Hearing’s Doctor of Audiology at the Chevy Chase location. Dr. Martinson is licensed in Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia. She specializes in diagnostic testing, evidence-based practice, and managing hearing disorders. She is passionate about finding the best hearing solution for every unique patient across the lifespan, from infants to seniors. She enjoys helping patients with the entire hearing health process from diagnosis to treatment, and is with her patients every step of the way.
Dr. Martinson earned her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) Degree from East Carolina University. Her interest in research led her to pursue a Ph.D. degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from East Carolina University. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and earned a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Martinson enjoys running, local theater, and anything to do with Star Wars.
Brandon Adawi, HAD

Brandon Adawi is a Maryland Licensed Hearing Aid Dispenser. He is an excellent provider and a true professional – genuine, personable, knowledgeable, and caring. He knows how to provide the clinical care our patients deserve. What he enjoys most about being a provider is helping people hear better so they can live better. He is a great asset and compliment to the Live Better Hearing!
Bria Collins, Au.D.
Dr. Bria Collins earned her undergraduate and doctorate degrees at the University of Maryland College Park. Dr. Collins has been practicing audiology in the Maryland region since 2010. She specializes in hearing aids and assistive listening technology.
While at the University of Maryland College Park, Dr. Collins was captain of the women's track and field team and earned All-East and All- American Academic Honors in Shot Put. Dr. Collins is originally from Mt Sinai, NY. She currently resides in Derwood, Maryland with her husband, two kids, and Olde English Bulldog.
Cindy Leeb, Au.D.
Dr. Cindy Leeb received her Doctorate in Audiology from Northwestern University in Chicago. She completed her graduate and clinical rotations throughout the Chicago area at locations such as Suburban Hearing Services, Specialized Audiology Services, Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital, and Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Her clinical externship year was completed at the Hearing and Speech Agency in Baltimore, Maryland. She completed her graduate capstone project titled “Retention by New Hearing Aid Users of Hearing Aid and Audiologic Information” to create a better way to present information to patients who are experiencing hearing aids for the first time.
Dr. Leeb is passionate about helping her patients from diagnosis through follow-up care. She understands that every patient’s needs are different and strives to create an environment where each patient feels comfortable and cared-for. She joined Live Better Hearing in 2015 as the provider in the Elkridge office and is currently the provider in the Rockville office. Dr. Leeb is licensed by the Maryland Board of Examiners for Audiologists. In her free time she enjoys baking for family and friends.
Dr. Stacey Samuels Cole, AuD, CCC-A, FAAA
Dr. Stacey Samuels Cole currently holds Bachelor’s of Science (BS) degrees in Pharmacology and Rehabilitation Science from Xavier University of Louisiana and Louisiana State University Medical Center, respectively. She also obtained Master’s of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in Rehabilitation Science with a concentration in geriatric clinical health issues. Dr. Cole relocated to Maryland in 1997 to pursue studies in Audiology at the University of Maryland, College Park, receiving her Master’s of Arts (MA) degree in 2002 and Doctor of Audiology (Au.D) degree in 2014. She currently holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) and is state-licensed. Professional memberships include: Fellow of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology; The American Board of Audiology; the American Speech and Hearing Language Association (ASHA); the International Hearing Society (IHS); and the American Academy of Audiology (Fellow-AAA). In June of 2015, Dr. Cole was appointed to the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Board of Examiners for Audiologists, Hearing Aid Dispensers and Speech Language Pathologists. Dr. Cole’s dissertation focused on the impact of cognition (working memory) and hearing loss on speech perception in the geriatric population and gained her the 2014 Student Mentored American Auditory Society Award.
Dr. Cole’s goal is to improve the quality of her patients’ lives through the provision of excellent hearing and balance healthcare. She ensures her ability to provide the best clinical services to her patients by maintaining cutting-edge knowledge of auditory/vestibular methodology. Her areas of expertise include audiological rehabilitation (i.e. hearing aids/amplification systems), cognition (working memory) and speech perception, and vestibular/balance testing and rehabilitation.
Dr. Stacey Samuels Cole is dedicated to the provision of excellent hearing/balance healthcare. It is important to her that each patient is educated on his or her hearing/balance status and apply this information to determine the best course of individualized treatment. Dr. Cole resides with her husband and daughter (Camille) in Ellicott City, Maryland. She enjoys white-water rafting, traveling, furniture restoration, and most of all, gardening.
Scott C. Elbert, M.Aud., FAAA, BC-HIS
Scott C. Elbert is Live Better Hearing’s audiologist at the Fredericksburg, VA office. It has been his privilege to serve patients in the Fredericksburg area since 2001 and for more than 23 years overall. He is a Virginia licensed audiologist, a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, and a Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist. He specializes in diagnostic hearing testing, hearing aids, and earwax removal.
Scott earned his Master of Audiology degree from the University of South Carolina – Columbia and his Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Towson State University. As a routine part of every examination, his patients are typically subjected to a multitude of corny jokes. His professors in graduate school never said that he was not allowed to have fun.
When he is not telling corny jokes, Scott enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife and four young children. This usually consists of activities related to soccer games, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and volunteering with his church.
