Technology moves quickly. It seems that every day a new cell phone, computer, or other gadget is released. Hearing aid technology is similar, with new improvements being released frequently. One of the most exciting technology updates in the past few years has been rechargeable batteries.
Rechargeable batteries are popular for a few different reasons, which I’d like to talk through today.
Convenience is one of the most common reasons why patients are interested in rechargeable batteries. In modern cell phone-addicted times, so many of us are used to charging our phones every night that plugging in hearing aids is easy to remember. Often patients find that remembering to use the charger is much easier than remembering to change the batteries once a week.
Another popular reason for rechargeable batteries is environmental concerns. Charging a battery instead of replacing it with a disposable battery reduces waste and the environmental impact of your hearing aids.
Make sure to reach out to your audiologist or hearing care provider if you are interested in talking more about rechargeable batteries.
