Meet Dr. Daniel Shearer
Dr. Daniel Shearer is the audiologist at our Fredericksburg, VA office. He earned both his bachelor's degree and a clinical doctorate from James Madison University. He spent the beginning of his career in Delaware, providing care for patients from birth to beyond 100 years old, and spent three years as the audiologist at the Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind. He later joined Live Better Hearing + Balance to focus his skills on helping patients improve their hearing health.
Dr. Shearer loves meeting new patients, identifying the unique ways their hearing loss impacts their daily lives and exploring the tailored options for improving their access to the sounds of the world around them. He has specialized training in testing children and guiding their parents toward the best possible outcomes. Working in collaboration with his adult patients, he helps to set individual expectations and works diligently to meet each person's hearing goals.
Dr. Shearer lives in Richmond with his wife, daughter, and two dogs. He volunteers his time collaborating with newborn screeners in Virginia. He is the Clinical Director for the Healthy Hearing program of the Virginia Special Olympics Summer Games. In their free time, his family enjoys hiking, swimming, and discovering new areas of the community around them. When he's not on the ground searching for bugs with his daughter, he is in the kitchen cooking or baking something new.
