Common questions

Where is your Ellicott City hearing center located?

We are located on 4801 Dorsey Hall Dr., just across the Columbia Pike. Our office is a short distance from Patapsco Valley State Park and Centennial Park, in the Dorsey Hall Professional Park. We're just a short drive from Dorsey's Search Village Center, and we're close to the popular Enchanted Forest shopping area, making it easy to spot our office. Our location is also near several local eateries and shops, so you can easily combine your visit with other errands or a quick bite to eat.

Does your audiologist know American Sign Language (ASL)?

Yes, Dr. Cole is happy to serve all patients who would like to communicate in American Sign Language (ASL), in addition to those who would like to speak or communicate in English.

Do you offer cochlear implant services at your Ellicott City location?

Yes, we do offer cochlear implant services at our Ellicott City office. Cochlear implants are a really effective solution for people with severe to profound hearing loss. They're not like regular hearing aids that amplify sound to the eardrum. Instead, these devices skip the damaged or non working parts of the ear and stimulate the auditory nerve directly from the cochlea, helping to send sound signals straight to the brain. Live Better Hearing + Balance has teamed up with top-notch cochlear implant surgeons from Johns Hopkins and Georgetown for testing, fitting, and follow-up care at some of our locations. Our team is skilled in handling everything from your first check-up to the actual implant procedure and the aftercare.

What is balance testing?

Balance testing is a specialized procedure we use to figure out the cause of dizziness or balance issues. Thanks to our partnership with the American Institute of Balance, a leader in vestibular studies and balance disorders, we're able to provide top-notch balance testing at our clinics. This partnership is a big deal for us because it transforms some of our offices into registered centers of specialty care, meaning we're equipped with the latest tech in balance diagnostics and treatments. Our team is up-to-date with the most advanced techniques in the field, ensuring you receive the best care possible here in Ellicott City. So if you're having any dizziness or balance issues, you're in great hands with us!
