We’re thrilled to share some exciting news with our patients across Maryland: Live Better Hearing + Balance is now offering Lenire®, an FDA-approved, evidence-based treatment device for chronic tinnitus, available exclusively at our Frederick and Ellicott City locations.

If you or someone you love has been struggling with the constant ringing, buzzing, or hissing in the ears, you know how exhausting and frustrating tinnitus can be. While there’s no cure, Lenire is a groundbreaking new option that’s been clinically shown to significantly reduce the impact of tinnitus—and it’s now closer than ever.

What Is Lenire?

Lenire is a non-invasive medical device that helps retrain the brain’s response to tinnitus. It works by combining gentle sound therapy through Bluetooth headphones with mild electrical stimulation to the tongue using a mouthpiece called the Tonguetip®. This dual input—known as bimodal neuromodulation—helps reduce how much attention your brain gives to tinnitus, making it less noticeable over time.

Unlike many treatments that only mask the symptoms, Lenire helps change how your brain processes sound, aiming for long-term relief rather than short-term distraction.

Why Lenire Matters to our Patients

Tinnitus can be more than just annoying—it can affect your sleep, your focus, and your emotional wellbeing. At Live Better Hearing + Balance, we’ve seen firsthand how deeply this condition can affect our patients' lives. That’s why we’re committed to staying at the forefront of tinnitus care and offering proven solutions like Lenire.

Lenire is the first device of its kind to receive FDA approval, following a large clinical trial where nearly 89% of patients said they would recommend the treatment. These results were also consistent with findings from over 200 U.S. patients in real-world use—many of whom reported significant improvements within just 6 to 12 weeks of starting treatment.*

How Lenire Treatment Works

The Lenire device is used at home, twice a day for 30 minutes, and is customized to your specific hearing and tinnitus profile by one of our licensed audiologists. You’ll begin with a comprehensive tinnitus evaluation, followed by a fitting appointment where your device will be tailored just for you. After that, you’ll continue treatment at home and return for follow-up visits so we can monitor your progress and adjust as needed.

Most patients find the stimulation comfortable, easy to use, and compatible with their daily routine. And because Lenire is yours to keep, you’ll be able to continue use as recommended even after the initial treatment program ends.

Now Accepting Patients in Frederick & Ellicott City

Our Frederick and Ellicott City clinics are proud to be among the first in Maryland to offer Lenire. If you’re dealing with persistent tinnitus that hasn’t responded to other treatments, Lenire could be a life-changing next step.
