Common questions

Where is your Gaithersburg hearing center located?

Our brand new Gaithersburg office is located in the Montvale Center building, near the Gaithersburg library, just off of Montgomery Avenue. We are just a mile away from our previous location in the Montgomery Village Professional Center. Our new building is across Montgomery Village Ave from the Lakeforest Redevelopment, formerly the Lakeforest Mall.

What hearing aids do you offer at your hearing clinic in Gaithersburg?

We offer a wide range of state-of-the-art hearing devices from all the major brands and manufacturers, including Phonak, Starkey, Oticon, Widex, ReSound, Signia, and more. Many hearing aids come ready with the features you expect, like rechargeability, bluetooth connectivity, noise reduction and speech enhancement, directionality, and so much more. Our expert audiologists work with each individual patient to craft a personalized hearing health care plan and find the right hearing aid with the features you need to begin hearing your best again.

Does your Gaithersburg office offer financing options for hearing aids and treatment, and how does that work?

Yes, we absolutely offer financing to make our services, hearing aids, and treatments more accessible and affordable. We've partnered with Allegro and CareCredit, known for their reliable financing options in healthcare. One of the great perks we offer is deferred 0% financing, which means you can get the care you need now without the immediate financial burden. Besides this, we have other flexible financing options tailored to fit different budgets. Our goal is to ensure that financial concerns don't stand in the way of your hearing health and well-being. If you're interested, we can walk you through the process to find a plan that works best for you.

Are you an audiologist or a hearing aid dispenser? What's the difference?

We are proud to be audiologists in Gaithersburg, and here's why: Audiologists like Dr. Shelby Gillen are healthcare professionals who hold at least a master's degree, but most have earned a Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.), including Dr. Gillen at our Gaithersburg hearing clinic. This extensive education and training encompass not only hearing aids but also a deep understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the ear, hearing and balance disorders, and methods for their evaluation and treatment. Unlike hearing aid dispensers, who primarily focus on selling and fitting hearing aids, audiologists provide a comprehensive approach to hearing healthcare. This includes diagnostic hearing evaluations, personalized treatment plans, rehabilitation services, and ongoing support. Our expertise ensures that patients receive not just a product, but a holistic solution tailored to their specific hearing needs and overall well-being.
